DNML:Digital Novel Markup Language ??? (62.82.187.78)
Hi! Anyone knows anything about this language?

I downloaded the 'program' from the vector page [http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dl/win95/game/se08591...], and when i go to uncompress it I have a error (manually winrar says Unknow Method...)

Anyone knows a solution for this problem?
And...anyone knows if there are any documentation in english?

PD: Sorry about my english (i'm spanish and i don't have a 9 in english ^_~)

Neither your Espanol nor English will help, since everything, including file names, are in Japanese (May suffer code problems).

Therefore, I'm building my game from scratch, refer Project Journeys (http://ClearWind.web1000.com).

DNML is very complicated and not very useful. It's good for basic visual novels, but it leaves it at that. The features are overly simple.

Did that file are in LZH format?
If that so you should try to uncompress with lhaz instead. You could found that program in vector HP as well.

LZH can be decompressed by WinACE as well. Grr those Japanese standards for using LZH...

Re: DNML:Digital Novel Markup Language ??? (62.82.173.5)
I downloaded LHAZ, and installed it.
But now...I have a new error (a error that i cant understand because LHAZ is in japanese) and that error is present in all the files with japan names.

How I can make directories or rename files with japanese simbols in win98? Or a best question: How I can make windows fully compatible with japanese aplications? That must solve all my problems...

PD: Again, sorry about my english ^_~

I'm afraid the PC is not the only thing that needs upgrade...it's you as well.

First, you will need to know Japanese...Good enough to start getting Computer jargon and reading Katakana (and knowing what they're talking about) well enough...

Then, get either English Windows 2k or XP, better get it before the anti-piracy "Longhorn" comes out...

Then, enjoy.

Win98 cannot handle the DNML package because the files inside it have Japanese JIS or UNICODE names. Win98 (English) cannot handle it. Only JWIN98 can do it. So I suggest you upgrade to a Unicode-based system...like W2k...I did...it was a pain and gave quite a ride, but everything settled down OK...

Re: DNML:Digital Novel Markup Language ??? (62.82.10.5)
Thanks for the advice Yang Sei Fu.

Win2k running perfectly and DNML installed at 100% (aleluya!)

Now the hardest work (maybe the longest)...translate all the reference, well rewrite it in another language and later post it in my homepage (not done yet). This language is usefull for simple Conversational Games, I have to expand it in my country

(Where is my PHP Nuke??)

PD: Actually I am learning Hiragana, next Katakana. (and Kanji :'( )

See? I am the sage around here.

Only Hiragana? Good luck...
If I am to expand the business of ren'ai games, I would not market my game in DNML...I would use code from scratch...which is what I'm doing now...
