I FEEL YOUR LOVE REFLECTION
Mitsumekaesu Hitomini
Egaite Harukana "NEVER ENDING STORY" - Two Mix

If you are a fan of Gundam, you are probably familiar with the little models of SD Gundam (Those cute little deformed mini sized models that captured the heart of my youth). Super Deformed, abbreviated as S.D., Gundam is used to be one of the most popular stories in Asia. Comics and models about SD Gundam released in the late 80's were among one of the top sellers. And now, in 1998, Bandai has brought back the memory of the good old-times through PSX. With the game type similar to Super Robot Wars, SD Gundam G Generation will sure bring back the memory of old time and the extreme addiction that has long lost in several Gundam games.

Story - 10/10

The story behind Gundam Generation is amazing. It combines nearly all stories of Gundams. You will play different scenarios chronically according to the stories of the Gundams. Starting with Gundam 0079: Perfect One-Year War, you will see Amuro fighting with Jeon to Hero in Wing Gundam. When playing this game, it makes you feel as if you are watching all the series of Gundam. You will even see Shiro in Gundam: 08th Mobile Suits appear in the game while Amuro tries to fight against Sha. If you are a fan of Gundam, this game will drive you crazy. LOTS OF SLEEPLESS NIGHTS!

Graphics - 9/10

The graphic in the game is outstanding. The intro movie displays many of the famous but cute Gundams. You will see this beautiful CG movies flowing vividly through your eyes. There is also plenty of Demo Game in there that will show beautiful CG movie when triggered by some action according to the original story. Compare to Super Robot War, G Generation has much better graphic than Super Robot. You will just have to see it for yourself.

Fun Factor/Gameplay - 10/10

As far as today, this is the best war-simulation game I have ever experienced. In the game, you will not only get to control the armies in the good side (i.e. Gundams in its story), but develop your own armies too. Each battle will allow you to earn money and possible some Mobile Suits to build your army. You will need to buy some mothership before you can take your Mobile Suits out on battle.

What makes this game more additive is the ability to upgrade your MS through experience and the ability to capture enemies' MS and incorporate into your army. In this game, your objective is to protect your base and sometime protect some specific character in Gundam story. By destroying enemies' mothership and protect your base, you will be able to collect the Mobile Suits belonging to the mothership. At the end of your mission, you will be able to gather the enemies MS you capture. Then, you can either use it in battle or combine with other MS to upgrade to a higher and more powerful MS. You will also be able to upgrade to better MS by ACE the MS you control in the battle. In a simple word to describe the game, this game is the bomb.

Sound - 7.5/10 There is some music that you can recall. Many of them are from the theme songs from Gundam anime. Although the music is sometime a little to repetitive, it is inevitably nice and match its theme.
