Since the release of last Super Dimensional heroes series, there hasn't been many RSLG games that could match the superior graphics and gameplay of super dimensional heroes. However, this month, another RSLG game came out that caught my eyes. Wind Fantasy is a game made by Fun Yours, a taiwanese company. I have been anticipating this game for quite a while ever since I saw some preliminary screen shots of it in an early issue of soft world magazine. When I saw it in the stores, I didn't hesitate to buy it right away. And from looking at the back of the box, I was really excited. When I actually poped the game into my computer, I was amazed. Although the first few levels are very easy and didn't reveal a lot of amazing storyline and graphics. My views were soon changed after playing a few level.
The battle system of Wind fantasy is quite unique, well unique in the sense that it combines a lot of ideas from different games and incorporated it in this game, which makes it really interesting. There are a lot of different things you could do in the game, like changing jobs and capturing and raising monsters to help you in fights. The battle system utilize a RAP, Real Action point which could be increased by getting certain items during battles. Attacking takes away 2 RAP and walking takes away 2 as well. Using items takes away 1 RAP. Resting adds 1 RAP to your character and attacking back uses up 2 RAP.
The story in Wind Fantasy is pretty fascinating. Long ago, earth was inhibited by gods, and when they left earth to move somewhere else, they left 3 goddess in charge of earth. With the help of the 3 goddess, humanity has reached their fullest protential in terms of technology and wealth. However, humans, being greedy decided to attack the goddess so they can take their potentials to a higher level. The goddess lost the war and were sealed by the human troops. The third goddess that remained killed the king of the humans and the humans having lost their leader began to lose the war against the last goddess, just then the demon was summoned by the human and the war between the demon and the goddess raged on. At last, the kingdom of god was destroyed and humans never saw the demon or the goddess again. That was about 1600 years ago. After that humans started their lives again.
Around 1000 years ago, the Red dragon king began to take power against the humans. The humans having no power had no choice but to give away under the ruthless ruler. However a young hero went the the dragon cavern and there he received the blood line of the white fire and found the badge needed to seal away the Red dragon king. With the help of his friend, he began to teach humans how to use the power badges that were scattered around the earth. The humans with new powers took arms against the red Dragon King and finally managed to seal him. The story begins 1000 years after the great dragon war.
The main character is a little girl called Lufia Heluta. She and her friend Angelne Farnelu are adventure hunters. And they accept missions all over the country to earn money. Lufia's ultimate goal is to find the ultimate magic spell. What she intends to do with it? You will have to play the game to find out. During the course of the game, you will meet other characters, such as Raisar Fikas, and Julian Unker who happens to be the main character of yet another game :p, Although I haven't played that game before but reading the manual, I found out that Julian is the boy who destroyed the demon god in his world.

Graphics: 9/10
The graphics are beautiful in this game, although not perfectly 3D, the backgrounds are done very nicely. The use of lighting in the background are a plus. The special moves effect are simply great as well :) In fact the spells in this game are more astonishing to watch than Super Dimensional heroe games. and with each character having their own set of special moves. You will always want to raise level and learn them quickly. A minus in the graphics department will have to be the character sprites. They are not as nicely done as other games I've played such as final fantasy tactics and TGL's farland saga.
Gameplay: 8/10
Excellent gameplay. There are a lot of different aspects of the game which will keep the player involved in the storyline as well as the game itself. There are a lot of hidden secrets and weapons in the game which you can only get by visiting the same place couple more times. A minus in the gameplay section is that the game is just too easy. Once you get your hands on the sleeping staff. Your party is almost invincible. I used a level 20 character to beat a boss that is level 522. I was like what the heck? The AI in the game is not great either. With the beasts you captured being controlled by AI, it is almost guaranteed that they will get killed in battle.
Music: 8/10
The music is really nice and soothing. All the tracks of the game is on a seperate CD labelled Wind Fantasy Soundtrack. The ending sound is also very nice :)
Storyline: 9/10
Personally I like stories involving gods, demons and monsters and magic, so I really like the story a lot :)
Overall: 8.5/10
Overall this is a great game. And I would recommend this for everyone basically. If you haven't got your copy yet. I would recommend getting it ASAP :)
